RIDE SERIES
We are all on a journey, a ride. We ride bicycles for many reasons; to feel free, clear our minds, build strength, visit friends, commute, connect to the environment, help reduce waste or simply ride. As an artist, I see the road ahead for bigger challenges. There are many obstacles in my ride that may divert my intentions, distract my vision or stop me cold. My spirits may dampen and my goals may be questioned yet I accept these challenges and use them to push harder and be stronger when arrive. I know in every ride I may fall or get detoured. Instead of quitting, I learn from the pain and suffering, sometimes even reaching out for support, knowing deep down I have the power to achieve my dreams. Whatever course you are on, enjoy the ride.
This show will include twenty-one 36”x6” panels, each interpreting someone’s story about their ride. I was inspired to make these panels after listening to The Metal Cowboy, aka Joe Kurmaskle talk about his journeys. He is a bestselling author, performer, bicycle travel adventure and writer. You can read more on his website.
I will be donate 20% of my proceeds to IRONITOUT an organization he started. I love the passion Joe has for making a difference in the world. It all starts with one person taking action. I hope to support, through my art sales, his cause to make changes to better the lives of many!
